We are singing the songs that boys have made famous that we’ve ALWAYS wanted to sing!

For ONE NIGHT ONLY – Patty Peterson, Judi Vinar, Rachel Holder and Lori Dokken (members of “the girls,” the “I Am Woman,” and “Women on the Moon” shows) will put their own spin on iconic songs made famous by legendary “boys” — including Stevie Wonder, Bill Withers, Elton John, The Beatles, and many more.

Every time these great friends take the stage; it promises to be a fantastic evening of powerful vocals, rich harmonies, and a sprinkle of Rat Pack-style charm and humor.

Presented by local music powerhouse Lori Dokken – this dynamic ensemble of women will deliver a one-night-only event you won’t want to miss!

Adam Wolff is a swinging, soulful jazz pianist from San Diego, California. He played Crooners last year to a full house!

Adam Wolff, jazz pianist, is originally from New York. Soulful, swinging, and inventive, he counts Ahmad Jamal, Bill Evans, Herbie Hancock and Keith Jarrett among his influences. His trio performances add unexpected elements to well-known jazz material. Playing with vocalists is a pleasure, as every performance is distinctly different.

We are excited about the news that GABA (Grand Ave Bus. Assn.) has extended into fall the Open Air Music On Grand at the former Billys Patio at 857 Grand Ave in St Paul. Music events will be on Tuesdays starting at 6 pm and go to 7:30 pm. These shows are free but remember to bring cash to Tip The Talent! FRIDAY SUNSETS ARE FREE!! Seating for Friday Sunsets is all OPEN SEATING and reserved on a first come, first serve basis. There are no reserved spots. We encourage guests to RSVP and come early to find their own spot or bring lawn chairs/blankets. Marquette Pavilion has ample covered seating and indoor space, should rain or cold weather occur.

The Wine Bar on the Pavilion Patio offers walk-up service for convenient purchases of wine and other beverages, along with food items from our Bistro. The Wine Bar & Bistro are available until 8:30 PM.

The musical journey begins with Sister Rosetta Tharpe and travels through time up to today featuring female phenoms like Billie Holiday, Laura Nyro, Carole King, Nina Simone, Phoebe Snow, Joni Mitchell, Bonnie Raitt, Aretha Franklin, Janis Ian, Lady Gaga, India Arie and more. The evening will also be interspersed with words from some well-known writers and celebrities such as Maya Angelou, Terry Tempest Williams, Winona LaDuke, Coretta Scott King, Mary Oliver and more.

On stage to deliver an eclectic and dynamic array of arrangements written or performed by iconic female vocalists is a cadre of local Twin Cities’ luminaries such as Judi Vinar, Joyann Parker, Rachel Holder, Charmin Michelle and Anna Christy backed by pianist Lori Dokken (Producer & Music Director of Shout! Sister, Shout!) along with an all-star rhythm section.  They will also be joined by Eden Bodnar, a local actress/artist/voiceover talent who will be delivering the spoken word sections.

A visual backdrop also accompanies this production and features digital renderings of the writers, composers and vocalists associated with each song and quotation.

Doug Anderson has been an actor/ dancer/ performer in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area for 40+ years. Performing at the Guthrie, Chanhassen Dinner Theater, Hey City Theater, Center City Theater to mention a few. He has performed his cabaret show at The Hey City Theater, The Bryant Lake Bowl and Crooner’s Dunsmore Room. In London he’s performed at The St. James Theater (now The Other Palace), Piaño, Crazy Coq’s, The Music Café and The Phoenix Arts Club.
